Will sims 3 run slowly on my laptop?
-
ok so ive ordered sims 3! and with experience from the sims and sims 2 , i know that the loading can be really irritating and annoying. so i have become prepared this time. seeing as my laptop is only for games, and doesnt even have any of the microsoft office programs, i decided to disk clean it completley, i deleted literally all of my programs, not the anti virus ones or any essentials . and any old files and saved my pics and videos on a memory stick and deleted them of my laptop. and then over night i defragmentated my laptop. and then i checked the memory and gigabites, and it says i have only used 28 percent of my hard disk ( or drive whatever ) and it has 98 gb left. will this be enough for sims 3 to run REALLY smoothly. or will it be really slow like it commonly is? i have a windows vista toshiba laptop. thanks :) x

Answer:
well its very difficult to tell because you didn't list the parts of your laptop (for example hte amount of memory (RAM), the type of graphics card, the speed of your processor (CPU), etc). If your computer has a hard time with sims 2 it won't do so well with sims 3. A great way to see how a game will run on a laptop is going to this website: systemrequirementslab.com The website basically finds out the specs of your laptop and determines whether the game will run well, so you can either go to that website or list the specs here.

why would you buy it? use a torrent so you get it for free. theres add-ons in the sims now that you have to pay for which is just stupid.
Ok, so I have been looking into buying the sims 3 for a while now (trust me, you want to because that's a lot of money to pay for a game) and i know that the sims and sims 2 take forever to load because i have both of them. but you have plenty of gigabytes left. if you really want to check into this in thoroughly, go to www.sims3.com and look under system requirements and that should tell you if you have enough. i have also been reading that even though it doesn't take very long to load and it doesn't have to load when you go to let's say a community lot, the game runs slower just because it doesn't load. but if you have a windows laptop, it hopefully will run smoothly, just not perfectly, because windows has a thing against the sims or something. hope it helps!!!

You need to know what ALL of the specs are on your computer and you need to compare those with what the minimum requirements are AND for what the suggested requirements are for the game(s) that you want to play on your computer. You should be able to find both sets of requirements for a game ... 1. On the box, typically on the back! 2. In the instructions that come with the game. 3. On the website for the company that made the game & that specifically refer to the game. Also, minimum requirements and suggested requirements are two different things! Minimum requirements should allow you to run the game without having to jump thru burning hoops but, suggested requirements should allow you to run the game smoothly and you need to know the difference between the two and you need to compare the specs on your computer to both of them!

I'm sorry to say: if Sims 2 runs slowly on your computer, Sims 3 will likely run just a slowly, if not slower. And for the future, if you are looking for a new gaming computer, desktops tend to be cheaper for higher specs. Good specs would be at least 2GB of RAM (4 is best). A decent Hard Drive. A dedicated graphics card, like from ATI or NVIDEA, etc. And a good CPU running maybe 2.5 GHz or more. Good luck, and have fun.

not sure depends if the sims 3 loads slowly naturally becuase it has loads of graphics or w/e. my sims 2 doesnt take that long to load, about 5 mins. What is it for yours? and good idea with clearing your laptop... xxx

You have more than enough memory, but you need a good processor also. What kind do you have?
it depends really. have you checked your graphics card? alot of people graphics have been dodgy.
