How to change HDD's on laptop?

When you want to change a laptop screen do you need to have a very specific one for the model of the laptop?

  • Out of all computer related knowledge that I know, laptop screens is the area I know the least, when everyone is asking me to replace their laptop screen. Other than the screen size, does it matter what screen I use to replace the screen on a laptop? Would the connections be different. It's not like IDE/SATA and AGP/PCI-E on a PC?

  • Answer:

damn good question. it seems like that as long as the physical dimensions are the same and the inverter plugs are the same... you should be good to go, right? maybe you could make a wrong (or better) screen work by using the old screen's inverter? i know that many different brands use the same basic screens...

All I can say is that for most laptops there is more than 1 option. If it fits it will say on the box. You just have to ask the supplier. Can't be more specific when dealing with laptops in general.
