Why is there no sound coming from my laptop?

Why is there no sound coming through my headphones from my laptop?

  • My computer says that they are working but clearly nothing's coming out. I've tried 3 different pairs of headphones.

    Are you plugging them in all the way? Have you tried turning up the sound on your computer manually? Those are probably the two biggest problems. If neither of those are the problems, then your sound-card or something with your pluggin is broken and you need to take it in to a repair shop to get it fixed. Good luck and I hope it is one of the first, they won't cost you money.

Is it possible that you have put the jack into the microphone jack? Sometimes they are next to each other?

It's on mute or you have the head phones plugged into the wrong spot. Other than that its a technical problem.

Erh my laptop does this but it works if i leave the sound on when i turn it off then when I start it up again and put the sound on mute i can hear through the headphones. This is fine for me and I feel no need to fix it, maybe it will work for you?

check your volume. and buy a new one right now. then put it in your laptop and put the volume all the way up and make sure the headphone actually works on other stuff before you try using it on your laptop then if it works, try using it and if it doesn't work, ask like someone or IDK. maybe somethings wrong with your laptop or your just def.
