Is a Flip really better than an older SD camcorder?

Why won't my sd card work on my laptop or camcorder?

• -------I have clearly provided a lot of information on the matter, but only because i felt that i needed to be very specific. Please bare with me :) ---------- Hi. I have a 16gb sd card. the brand is CENTON. it came with my toshiba h30 camcorder from tigerdirect.com as a package deal. Upon receiving the package in the mail, i inserted the sd card into the camcorder and started recording videos and taking pictures. Before downloading any of the camcorder's software onto my laptop, (windows 7) i put the sd card into an sd usb adapter to upload a video on youtube to test the quality of it. This was done successfully. I then put the sd card back into my camera and successfully recorded more videos. Afterwards, repeating the same process as before and putting that video onto my laptop. This is where the problems started occurring: It may have been just a coincidence, but the next day i decided to download the software cd that came with my toshiba camcorder onto my laptop. I then attempted to insert the sd card in my laptop again via the sd usb adapter, but sadly, what i got was this: "you need to format the disk in drive: E before you can use it. do you want to format it?" so i clicked format disk > start > ok, when the following pops up: " Windows was unable to complete the format". This happens everytime i try to do it. I have already tried to reformat it using an sd reformater software, downloaded online, but in vain. And now when i try to use it on my camcorder, the sd card will not work anymore, as it will say "memory is full" when i try to record. the camcorder is able to detect the sd card, but seemingly unable to properly read it. Any help on my issue would be greatly appreciated. As of this point i am completely fried lol...thanks.
