Can I watch TV through my laptop with an HDMI Cable?

Can HDMI cable connect your laptop to your tv so u can watch whats on your laptop on the tv?

    Yes you can, you just need a cheap HDMI - HDMI cable (if your laptop has HDMI output), you can get them in Wilkos, ASDA or TESCO for under at tenner. If your laptop has the older blue 15 pin socket then you need to buy a VGA to VGA cable to connect the laptop to the TV.

Yes is the answer but there are a couple of things to do, firstly check the laptop, you have hdmi out but does that carry sound as well, most dont, you will need to hook that up separately using a 3.5mm jack. When you do link them up there will also be a key combination on the laptop to turn on the external monitor, its not usually just plug and go... And a word of warning, HDMI cables are not all the same price but they all do exactly the same job, a £5 one from asda is exactly the same as a £150 one from currys they either work or they dont there is no "quality" issue like there was in scart ones, they will tell you there is but look round the net, they are lying... hdmi signal is 0 and 1s so they either get through or dont, so just get a cheap one...

Yes you can but you have got to make sure that both your laptop and tv have a hdmi port in them and when you plug it in make sure that your laptop and tv are set in hdmi mode otherwise you will get a blank screen, you will find this in settings both on your laptop and tv

provided there is a HDMI port on your TV and Laptop then yes. If not, you'll find a variety of other output ports on your laptop that would do the same job, RGA, VGA, S-Video etc
