How can I get through the msn games?

I can't get Firefox and many other games/programs to work on my new laptop with Windows 7 Please help!?

  • Hello all, I just got a new HP laptop and for the most part, I'm very happy with it. It's got a lot of great programs including Windows 7. Unfortunately, I am having a lot of trouble running my usual programs on it. I can't get Firefox to work AT ALL. I can only browse the internet using IE. I also can't get some games to work that worked just fine on my old desktop (which ran on XP). I was trying to install one of the games on the computer and it keeps saying it can't communicate with the internet. Even MSN Messenger won't work! I'm really frustrated. I've tried everything I can think of, including going to windows firewall and adding these programs to my "allowed" list. But nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    Which model is it? A regular Laptop or a Netbook? If it is a regular Laptop, just get it fixed under warranty as it is still new! If it is a Netbook with Windows 7 Starter, those are the limits in hardware and OS. I run Opera on Windows 7 - works great! www.opera.com I also run FireFox on Windows 7 and haven't noticed any problems. Maybe a reinstall is needed. Regarding your older applications: many will run in Windows 7's XP Mode. You can read up on it and download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Yes i had the same problem, Make sure you have a 32 bit, we got a 64 bit which is not the right requirements for some software. Hope this Helped. Lewis

for firefox, go to the download page and get the newest version. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html MSN should come pre-installed on your computer. and should work fine. if its not, try this: 1. reboot, see if it works now 2. do a windows update 3. run anti virus program http://profiles.yahoo.com/blog/5W3EQRPPATNTZ3FRTA7KDXMYGM?eid=RZERWccznHhLeC3fgZMsQeZQqB3Onddtr5tTfv1iwvunwHPobQ 4. if none of these options work, repost your question and list the things youve tried already. keep in mind that some programs that worked on XP might not work on win7. good rule of thumb, if it says it will work on vista, it should work on Win7
