Why wont my laptop start?

  • I am looking for possible reasons why my labtop wont start so if anyone has any ideas I would be thankful. When I turn on my labtop this screen comes up with two options Startup Repair or Start Normally http://i41.tinypic.com/xlgwgo.jpg But both choices end up with a screen that doesn't load and I know the screen isn't frozen because the windows emblem still glows. http://i43.tinypic.com/zy7bk7.jpg (Start Normally) http://i39.tinypic.com/34i6by8.jpg (Startup Repair) I have also tried safe mode which starts and stops at the same point every time. I have tried waiting for my labtop to start but even though hours pass it still stays on the same screen. Hp Windows 7 Home Premium

    Did you create the operating system recovery disc set when setting it up for first use ?The operating system has corrupt system start up files you need to use the recovery disc set and do a system repair or reinstall if the built in system repair or recovery does not work because of the corrupt system files. A few possibilities. Likely a downloaded virus, especially if you have been visiting web sites that are known for it. Corrupted bios would do that. Not sure of a dead hard drive would also get that far or not. WIth the windows logo, I think your HDD is functioning. At this point, likely you need a system reload. I think Windows got corrupted. Maybe someone else has another idea.
