My laptop has stopped playing sound?

No laptop sound, is the sound card fried?

• The other day my laptop stopped playing any sounds. I reinstalled the drivers and restarted. That fixed it for a little bit but then no sound again. Restarting seemed to fix it but this happened a few more times. Then today it stopped playing altogether no matter how many times I restart it. Is this just my sound card dying or something else?

  it could be something else.something about conflict with another soft or sistem issues.I remember that on my windows xp i have this problem constantly and this was because of some conflict in the sistem..probably u recently installed another sound devices or soft or..etc.sometimes i handled myself from coincidence and sometimes i take it to the professional..but i really don t know how to advice u..its pretty annoying when u face some issues that u can t handle them yourself :P..i should know..i get frustrated often when just sudden something happen .. anyway,wait for more answers and if u don t get none,take it to the profi.and let him show u how he repair to know in the future.
