My Sony VAIO won't boot up?

My Sony Vaio VPCEE34FX won't boot up yet the green power light comes on don't know whats wrong with it .?

When I turn it on the green light comes on but nothing happens to the screen it does not boot up can someone please tell me what's wrong with with it . It's still charges & the fan is working fine the only thing is nothing happens to the screen .

  First, connect your laptop VGA port to an external LCD monitor screen to see if your laptop backlight is defective. Boot in "safe mode". As it starts up press F8.
