Which is better? Sony or HP notebooks?
-
I'm looking for a notebook with a blu-ray player built in or can get one as an option. So far I have found only HP and Sony have blu-ray player as an option. Which is better? Sony or HP notebooks in terms of durability, hardware failure, and can last at least 3-4 years without going dead? Note: I know there are other notebook makers thats better than Sony or HP, but only Sony and HP have blu-ray player option. If I am wrong, please list other notebooks in your answer. Thanks

Answer:
Of the computers that were sold, and computers that returned for service that was hardware related, Sony and HP are roughly equal. I mean we saw many more HP's in for service, but then HP sold many more laptops than Sony did. Bottom line is, they are roughly equal in quality. Sony tends to charge more for the "Sony" tag more than a difference in quality. I would personally go for whichever one has the longest warranty coverage and whichever one has a local warranty service center.

No, there's other brand of laptops with blu-ray player , for instance, Dell, you can google it. And in my opinion, Sony is more beautiful in appearance than other ones, and the price, of course, it's more expensive . I'm using HP right now, it's okay, I think you just take the one you'd go for with the specifications you need and the price.

HP. It is cheaper and more durable that sony. If you want idiotproof and smash proof notebooks, try IBM.

HP. Get an HP Pavilion DV6775us

Sony are slightly better, HP are slightly cheaper (in general). Either will do the job. Last time I went to get my HP notebook fixed (due to a hardware fault), they said they'd stopped making that one, and offered me a discount on a new one instead. It was only 3 years old. I have no idea how long Sony supports their notebooks.

well if your looking to spend alot of money and get top of the line Sony, Hp, and Apple are the best, you can run windows on all of them, and with a Mac you can run OSX as well, but if you were choosing between Sony and HP i would choose Hp, i own 5 hp laptops and i have had very few problems, ive had one that had a failed backlight and it was repaired overnight and i had it back the next day, and it was in warentee !!!!

When i was looking for a computer not far back, all of the computer places I went told me that the HP were selling quite a bit more than the sony, i like both companies, but i ended up buying the HP, and honestly am very happy i went with it. i own an HP pavilion

Currently i own a HP pavilion. And it works fine. Both are very good company's though. So whatever specialty's you are looking for in a laptop, get that one. But stick with sony or HP, there going to last longer that most laptops.
Try Dell in your area - there is a blu-ray option that you can add to your preferred config. Build, mix & match.
