How can I tell if I can replace a laptop processor.?

If I am looking to buy a laptop. I will want to upgrade it when the times comes. Now I know only a few parts of the laptop are upgradable like ram, processor, optical drive, hard drive, and motherboard (for new intel laptop motherboards only) But I heard in some cases the processor is not replaceable as they are soldered on the motherboard. So how can I tell if any laptop has an acturall socket for the processor or a processor is soudered.
