Connecting Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 to Laptop?

I just got the Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 so i planned to transfer some of my music and pictures from my laptop to the phone but when i connected it it popped up saying "Windows needs to install driver software for your Samsung Android USB Device" so i clicked on the recommended option - Locate and install software. then another thing popped up saying "Insert the disc that came with your Samsung Android USB Device" But i didn't get any disc when i bought my phone all i have is like a small card named SAMSUNG micros Adapter, so umm how do i connect to my laptop and yeah, and just letting you know, i'm not that great at technology so...sorry if this is a stupid question.
