How can I write a really good mode?

My laptop is in over write mode how do I turn this off?

  • I know the PC's have an over write key on the keyboard but my laptop doesn't have any. From time to time it goes into over write mode. I am not sure how it is happening but without the over write key I don't know how to turn it off. It is annoying. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

  • Answer:

press the insert key (it might be like SHIFT + INSERT) will toggle it on and off.

Overwrite on a pc equals "insert" key which in laptops (windows based) is normally label as "ins" key... Sometimes you must use the "fn" key combination to use the "ins" key I hope you where talking about typing... lol

Just press the INSERT Key. Try typing something out and if the text is writing over what you've typed then the Insert key is still activated. Hope this helps

I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean characters getting replaced while you type, the Insert key turns that off.

Use Fn+Enter to toggle insert/overtype mode. I often accidentally do this and it took ages to work out how to undo it. Hope it works for you too.
