Can anyone please HELP ME WITH MY LAPTOP?!!?!?!?!?!?
-
Okay. so a few days ago I installed Sims 3 onto my laptop. Then i started noticing some problems with the computer itself. First, it would get slower. Then it would just freeze, but i could still move the mouse around. I tried ctrl alt delete but it said windows could not provide security options. So, to make the computer do ANYTHING, i had to shut it down by holding the power button. Now, when i log in, it's forever stuck on the welcome screen and won't go anywhere else. Also, it tried running some updates but got stuck, or just wouldn't do anything, on the 3rd update. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, windows vista. Please, can someone help me? Now, it is saying it has to check for disk consistency. what does that mean? Can anyone help me fix my laptop?

Answer:
Just let the disk consistency finish. Uninstall Sims because laptops have a small amount of memory and Sims is generally a large file.

you could have a virus try getting norton internet security
You can try this, pressing alt-ctrl-del together at the welcome screen: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_install/vista-stuck-at-welcome-screen-forever-but-ctrl-alt/41c5d818-c10f-4311-a0be-12b875d2e839 If you manage to get onto your desktop try looking for Sims 3 in control panel and then uninstall a program. If this works download Malwarebytes it's free: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Turn off the computer. Remove the battery. Leave that out for 1 minute or 2. Then turn it on. It should get past that screen. If it is still stuck, once you get to that screen click alt ctrl del and see if the task manager comes up. If you need more help I run a tech blog call www.didyourestartit.com message me there I can always talk you through it.

Well the first logical step is to uninstall Sims 3, and see if that makes a difference. Once you do that, then we can begin the healing process, if need be.
