How to recycle a laptop?

I have a laptop with nothing but the recycle bin..?

  • My friend gave me a laptop with XP professional. The computer starts up perfectly, no problems, runs smoothly..but the only thing it really has is the recycle bin on the desktop. I can open up IE, but I can't use it because the computer has no drivers or anything for networking. When I go to add/remove programs, there's only one or two programs there. Is there a way for me to go online and get drivers for the networking??? I figure maybe if I get at LEAST those, I can go on windows update and download everything else while I'm on the laptop. Any suggestion that doesn't require needing the XP professional CD?

    Yeah, you need to download the drivers. Just google download windows xp professional drivers, or search it at microsoft.com they are free

If the Recycle Bin is all you can see, than that means that is a clean install of XP and your friend didn't realize that Windows discs don't contain all the drivers

You might want to ask your friend if he has the recovery disks for the laptop, it contains all the drivers.
