Do I need a phone line for internet?

I need to know if I buy a wireless laptop, does it mean that I can get on the internet without any phone line?

  • I am thinking about buying a wireless noebook comp., will I be able to hook up to internet without any phone line hook up, such as at a resteraunt or club?
