Help microphone for laptop?

I would get (From Radio Shack) a headset microphone for the laptop that has a windscreen on the microphone. Wireless would not be the best, since it records digitally, and you want a "Fat" analog sound while recording your voice. The best thing to do would be to download Audacity from audacity.com (Free software) rip the karaoke music to the hard drive. Import it into audacity. Then play it from the computer while you sing. By using the headphones, the mic will not pick up the music (This is what you want to happen) and it will sound like a professional recording. Audacity allows you to remove "Room Noise" so the mic will sound even better. Hope this helps

None of the microphones you can get for your laptop are going to be anywhere near the kind of quality you'll need for a demo. The microphone jack is the wrong type and the microphones that fit that jack are all going to be cheap. If you watch any YouTube video showing a singer, you'll see that they all have a decent microphone. If you want to take it seriously, I'd really recommend it. Sorry I can't recommend another kind of microphone that will sound good. If all else fails just by the best quality microphone available that will fit your laptop.
