My full screen mode won't work.

The screen on my Dell laptop doesn't work unless the computer is in Safe Mode, why?

  • So, I switch on my computer and the screen flickers on, sometimes only long enough for me to see the Dell logo, but usually long enough for the computer to start up and let me type my password. After this small period of time, the screen goes off, and I can't get it on unless I restart the computer or sometimes, if I close the laptop and open it really slowly! I know there isn't a problem with the screen, as it is working now! In the week before this problem started, my computer wasn't starting up properly, I had to do a system restore (I think that's what it's called). Now even that doesn't solve the problem! Is there a way that I can get my Laptop to always start in Safe Mode (with networking, obviously, I couldn't cope without the internet), or do I have a virus that only has access to my system when Windows is running normally? Help!

  • Answer:

I would redownload the video drivers for your laptop and then reload the drivers onto your pc. It appears that it might be an issue with corrupt video drivers on your laptop.
