How to turn screen on during partial wake lock?

Compaq Mini Caps lock LED flashing, screen won't turn on. Can I fix this at home?

• has anyone had this problem before? How did they fix it? If I bring it into the shop, will I have to lose all my memory? Honestly, this happened because I carelessly spilled ramen all over it. BUT it was fine until I unplugged the adapter. Then after a second, the screen shut down and the caps lock started blinking. I shut it down using the power button, and when I turned it back on, the problem persisted. But the screen won't even turn on. When I was young and evil, I spilled juice and water all over the keyboard of my sister's laptop. It worked after the liquids dried up. Hoping this miight be the case, but Idunno. THe caps lock flashing doesn't seem like a problem that will stop all on its own. I'm going to try to do a hard reset on it, but in case it is not the proper solution or if anyone else knows how to fix it, please tell me. I might not have the money to get it fixed.

  You could try shutting it down and when you start it up press F8 repeatedly until you get a screen with the option to boot to the Last Known Good Configuration. Try this first and see if it makes a difference. To get a good accurate answer give the brand, model number, installed operating system of the laptop when asking a question as all PC's are not the same.
