What is multiple display.what is the difference between digital and laptop display?

i have a DELL XPS 17x laptop and uses Nvidia Geforce GT 555m graphic card.I found "set up multiple display" in the control panel.I have 2 displays 1. laptop display 2. digital display.How do they differ.And WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF ONE IS DISABLED?

Answer:
"Multiple Display" is just a term that means your computer is using more than one screen at a time, for instance if you hooked up an external monitor and used that plus your built-in screen. The "digital display" you're seeing is just a generic placeholder for that second monitor. Because you don't actually have anything plugged in right now, you get a bland label of "digital display", but once you plug something in that name will change to the make/model of whatever model you plugged in.
