The system will run at lower processor speeds when enabling power management features and it will go into "sleep" mode faster when inactive. Buy batteries with internal processors such as Li-Ion batteries. Non Li-Ion batteries must be fully discharged and then recharged every 2-3 weeks. it doesn't matter, my laptop actomatically recharges when its pluged into the mains I often have it plugged into the mains so that when im not near a socket I can use it it won't harm the battery at least i don't think so becasue its designed to recharge like that

Best thing is to use the battery as little as possible, but if you do, make sure it's almost fully discharged before charging and that you charge it to full (100%).
