No sound coming while playing dvds on my laptop?

  • Hi, I've just purchased Compaq Presario 3225AU laptop with Vista Home Basic. The laptop is working fine except for one issue..when I play dvds..there is no sound!!!! I tried the same dvds on my other computer and they r running fine...but on my new laptop the sound is not coming.. I checked the sound properties..the volume is set to maximum...what could be possible wrong? VCDs are working fine..its just the dvds in which sound is not coming.. Please advice. Ravi

    There are a lot of possibility and it is not possible to detect them just by seeing details. So, ti is better if you go for a porfessional help, like the store ot outlet from where you purcahsed your laptop.

check the sound properties of your dvd player. check that sound drive in ur laptops motherboard is wroking properly. install sounddriver from ur motherboard cd again. check ur sound codec as well.

check if it's a dvd player and maby the sound cord may be blocked pc might be on mute take it to a I.T Dude!

check whether ur dvdsoftware is muted or may be ur sound card doesn't match dvd player sotware configuration.

Try downloading a sound codec like AC3 Codec.

This looks like there is a sound card porblem call the service person to check the laptop. Check if the jack that you are inserting in the correct point or not or some time there could be speakers problem in the system put the external speakers and see might be sound card or the speakers could be the problem.
