What can i get for my laptop?

I want to get a laptop that can record lectures, what is the best to get?

For a price of a bout $1000-$1200. I'm not really in to games, the only game I would like to be able to play is something like Halo 2. I would like a laptop that is good for videos though. From what people are saying, I can get a much more for my money with a pc, and I can get a free upgrade to windows 7.

If you want to record lectures, then you have to get a laptop with a moving camera on the top, so that you can record it while using it. However, regarding gaming, choose one with at least 512MB video card, this should play halo2, easily. Now, videos won't be a big deal, just get one with 4GB ram.
