How long does it takes to charge a laptop battery?

Problem with laptop battery and/or charger?

  • So recently I had this problem with my battery: It's connected to my charger, but sometimes it would disconnect by itself, and the charger was securely connected. Nowadays it takes seconds before it will disconnect, charge, then disconnect again. I took my battery out and had my laptop run w/o it, and it seemed fine, the charger doesn't disconnect/reconnect again and again. But sometimes my laptop would randomly shut down when I'm directly connected to just the AC power, so I'm beginning to wonder what's wrong with my laptop. Is it my battery that has a problem, or both my battery and charger? (And is it likely that it's my charger that's been causing the random shutdowns, not some virus or anything?)

Take the battery out and power on your laptop with the charger only. ---Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. If power jack is loose you can find laptop power jack on ebay. However, fixing and soldering the power jack requires professional skill. --Always, the green/blue LED on charger needs to be constantly on. If not, replace the defective charger. Since battery/ ac adapter has its own lifespan and does not last forever, to help you save up some, you can consider getting a charger under lifetime warranty from store like topmic.com Wish the Best.

Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced. It seems to think it is charged then not charged then charged again.
