Honestly i would recommend a macbook. i know it is a little over your price range but trust me it will be money well spent. I would recommend the regular white macbook it starts at 999 but you will get a 100 dollar student discount so 899. Its hard to put the money up front but with a pc you will find yourself having to buy another one in 2 to 3 years, a macbook will last you three times as much if you take care of it. I am a ASU student and for the first two years i had a dell XPS 1330 and dang did i hate it viruses left and right, and the battery life sucked!!. I recently bought a MacBook pro 13 inch and man what an upgrade!..............macs are perfect for school, they are reliable and have a crazy amount of battery life! 10 hours!. I used to carry around my charger witch made my bag heavier but now i dont worry about battery i know it wont run out. don"t listen to all the compatibility problems, for school macs are compatible with almost everything......Goodluck!! and keep your grades up!
