What is the best laptop to get on the market for $2000-3000?

  • I am looking for a good laptop for gaming, burning(dvd&cd), media, graphic design, etc...basically a little bit of everything. This laptop must have one of the best processors, more than 2gigs of mem, and more than a 200gig hdd. Don't know a whole lot about computers so can anyone help me out and give me some suggestions on a good puter. I want to be able to use it for years so...thanks!

Not apple, don't waste your money on incompatible, overpriced garbage. You can get twice as much for your money, including better graphics, memory, processor, and other features, by going with hp or dell.

Just don't buy a mac. Alienware makes great gaming PCs, and the higher end Dell ones work very well.

Don't spend that much on a laptop. You can only drop it once, and the less tears that ends in, the better. Around $699 CDN gets you an acer aspire with 3gb ram (recommended for graphics design), processor hardly matters with the usage you've described. It also has the option of a 3 year warranty covering accidental (and even deliberate) damage. You're money would be better spent this way because laptops are vulnerable to accidents and the real world.
