Can my laptop turn off battery charging automatically?

Laptops turn of after 20mins after replacing laptop battery?

  • My boyfriend replaced the laptop battery because it needed a replacement. It worked for a while it was at my boyfriend's house. It didnt work right away so we left it charging then it worked. So i took the charger out not the battery and left it in my backpack because i thought i would go home on the same day but instead i went to a party with my boyfriend. The next day i go home and went on my laptop. It worked for about 20mins and then it turn of on me. I turn it back on and it worked until the point where it say "start window normally" . I chose that option and the laptop turn off. Same goes with the other options. Laptop battery light was on when it was working but it was red not green. Laptop still turns on up to the point where there are options to chose from. The laptop battery i had was Asus Li-lon Battert Pack A32-F2 +11.1v 48000mAh Replacement battery: 1. Product Type: Replacement Battery 2. Cell Type: Li-ion 3. Battery Cells: 6-cell 4. Voltage: 11.1V 5. Capacity: 5200mAh I took i the charger and Battery out. Then plugged the charger back in. Same result. Im not sure i did it right though.

    It is not normal for a new battery, you need to contact the seller for more instructions. Btw: Most laptop batteries provide 1-yr warranty.

go to power options in the control panel and check those settings also depending on the battery purchased it may only have 20 mins of life also on the right side of the task bar you should see a battery icon and that should tell you how much time is left let the battery die all the way next time and then charge it over night and that should fully charge the batter for the best result
