What kind of computer should i get?

It really depends on what you plan to use the laptop for. If you plan on only using the laptop for word-processing stuff or basic functions, then it makes more sense to buy a netbook (I suggest a netbook from the Acer brand). The perks of using a netbook is that it is more ecofriendly, easier to carry, and typically has a long battery life. Good netbooks nowadays also have a decent amount of hard drive space included (although if you do run out, I would suggest investing in an external hard drive) For gaming-specific purposes, I would suggest an Alienware M17x. It is a powerful laptop. For intermediates, a macbook is great (though pricey) and a Sony Vaio is awesome as well. For the most part, webcams and mics are built in to laptops nowadays.

okay im 15 and i'm in the same situation as you... i suggest you buy a mac ( iMac or macbook if you want a laptop ) they are GREAT i'm still waiting for my dad to buy me one ( cause this vaio is killing me ) and i read ALOT about them you can check them out on : www.apple.com and it's REALLY hard for a mac to catch a virus and its eco-friendly.... so i suggest mac :)

I recommend either a windows 7 powered laptop, or a macbook. Windows has more options and is more powerful, but mac is more simple and easy. I use I macbook because I don't want any high tech pc laptop.

macs not bad and a properly protected windows computer is not bad either. macbook imac or just a mac best computers best performance or if ur looking for cheap go with a vista brand new one will last you like 8 more years then get avast with vista norton sucks

It depends on how much you (or your parents) are willing to spend. It looks like you like to keep your things until they die, which is very good. I personally would recommend a MacBook by Apple. They are very eco friendly and have excellent battery life. I switched to Mac my first year of College back in 2004 with the purchase of a PowerBook G4, it still works perfectly today. Don't believe all the naysayers who tell you that Macs are not compatible with anything, that is an outdated lie - they are compatible with mostly everything nowadays. You can even run Windows on them if you do not want to you Mac OS (even though Mac is the far superior operating system). You will never have to worry about bugs, glitches and best of all NO VIRUSES ARE ON MACS. All macs have built-in light sensors so the screen adjusts accordingly which is easy on the eyes and saves battery. Also, they all have built in web cams and microphones. Hope this helps!
