Where can I recycle my laptop for money?

What should I do with my old laptop?

  • I recently got a new laptop because the bulb for the screen on my old laptop broke. It was a ridiculous amount of money to pay for repairs, hence why I got a new laptop. My question is, what should I do with my old laptop? Do people recycle them or something?

    there are non-profit organizations that repair old computers and give them away to poor kids. As they have their own repair-lab, maybe they have cheap bulb replacements. I'd consider donating the old laptop to them.

You could trade it in to a store that will take it, or sell it on eBay.

you can always take it apart and sell the parts and you will get more money to sell the parts on their own. dont sell it all together. any that dont work throw away(without and labels!) your welcome any more questions contact me!

You can of course give it to a repair station or sell it to a best buy or something similar, but you have to make sure that your files on the hard drive are not only deleted but carefully removed. If you only delete files the usual way there is still a trace of them on the hard disk. hence, some clever people can quite easily bring these files back. there are certain programs that "wipe" the data so that nobody can bring them back, just search google for one of these programs. hope i could help

most stores will give you a credit when you trade your old one in or will take it and recycle it for you

Actually, you can take out the parts, such as Hard Drive, CD/DVD-ROM and memory from the system. The rest you can recycle it. The reason for that is to have extra space for data and files.

Sell it on Ebay and say that the light doesn't work.. Chances are someone will still buy it. People buy lap tops and take them apart and just sell the pieces.
