MacBook Pro With Dual Monitors?

2 monitors to one macbook pro?

  • Ok, so I am into editing videos, and therefore need to have 2 monitors. I recently got a macbook pro 17 inch. I want to be able to hook up two external monitors to my mac, so I can close the laptop and still have 2 monitors. I have read about this Matrox DualHead2Go thing, and have been unsatisfied. All I really need is to be able to play the video output on one of the monitors. Is there any way to do this? Sorry if this is too confusing....

  • Answer:

You can really only output to one external monitor using the external port. If you want more than one, you have to get some kind of USB display card. If you don't like DualHead2Go, there are other choices. This guy bought two Diamond adapters and has a total of three external displays: http://daggle.com/macbook-pro-multimonitor-4-monitors-at-once-1577 I see Diamond also makes a HDMI adapter if you want to connect it to a HDTV. This adaptor also supports sound output so everything will play though the TV in one cable, which might be useful to you.
