What is the best Pocket PC to buy?

Should I buy a Pocket PC or a Laptop?

• If I live in an apartment, should I buy a Pocket PC or a Laptop? I would like to list items on eBay and other websites, talk on Skype, watch internet TV. I found a second hand compaq cq 40 - 108 selling at around $380. Whereas, HP hx4700, which is being of my interest, selling not much lower than the laptop I think. Which one would you recommend or any other models?

  It is a little difficult to describe exactly why, but a Pocket PC will not be a replacement for even a very "low powered" desktop or laptop. It is hard to describe because yes, technically, you can do all of the things that you list on a Pocket PC, with enough effort and research you can make these things work. But I have to tell you, even the simple task such as posting your question here, will require much more effort with a pocket PC. most pc tasks really require a keyboard, and yes you can get a "thumb" or even a larger keyboard to work with the pocket PC, they are more expensive and still not "PC-Like" I am sure that there are people that are in love with their pocket PC and insist that they can do "everything" with it (and they can). The other downside to the pocket pc model that you listed is that the wireless network is 802.11B, much slower than a 802.11G. It is cheap to upgrade wireless speed on a laptop, not so with a pocket PC. I think a Pocket PC should really be considered as a companion to a PC, not a replacement. The world is adapting to become more accessible to portable devices, but again, the hx4700 won't deliver the same experience as an iphone or other current mobile devices.
