How do you modify your computer?

Is there a way to modify a laptop keyboard and display to word on a regular desktop computer?

• Well, Is there? I was bored so I decided I'd try to see if I can modify the mouse, keyboard, and display off an old laptop (Compaq Contura 430CX) to work on my desktop computer. The mouse seems like it'd be simple, it only had 6 output pins, just like a ps/2 mouse. But the keyboard had 27 and the display has a whole lot(I didn't even bother counting, I could just tell it was way more than 15). Is there a way to modify the keyboard and display to work with my computer? Don't bother asking me why I'm doing this, you might as well ask hitler why the jewish people are so great. Truth is, I just need some project to retain my sanity during "mid-winter break"(it's illegal to say christmas in school now)

  You could get a switch or router and have both on DSL and do file sharing at the same time with patch cables .
