hi there having a 30 GB drive doesnt give you much to play with when you are using vista. anyway your options are: uninstall any unneccessary programs run cleanmgr (Start then Run then type cleanmgr and press OK) and get rid of old files, select More options and delete all but the recent restore point type %temp% into the run box and press OK, delete all files shown then empty the recycle bin if you need help then I can do this for you over the internet FREE OF CHARGE don't know how much you are going to save but I'd look at getting a better drive and cloning your original one on to it Regards

I would Check your user folder for images/music and such. I would download ccleaner and completely remove cookies and temp internet files... Then i would turn of system restore.. system restore can take up to 5-6 Gigs sometimes of memory.

Well I dont know how so much memory has been used up!! Just by having msn, mozzilla itunes avg and spybot wouldnt take up all your memory - I'vr got msn, itunes, avg and I ve got laods of memory left - so all I am saying is that something is DEFINETELY not right. And 50 photos wouldn't take up it all! What laptop do you have? I suggest getting an external drive.. Hope i helped?

leave avg, its antivirus software, in fact, id leave everything. 31gb is quite easy to fill with just vista, I would recommend buying an external hard drive with a USB interface, or upgrading to a larger in-built Hard Disk Drive

Go to dowloads and music and delete what you can, move it to Data (D:) I store all of my stuff there. :) Just cut and paste, make sure it is not duplicated in both places!

The laptop could be using a large amount of memory for photos and such. They tend to get larger as the quality increases. I highly recommend using external drives for storing pics, music, movies etc. It'll give you more room to get the programs you need on your pc. MSN sounds like the generic shortcut to the MSN.com homepage. Mozilla is the company behind Firefox, ITunes is the Apple Music Store/Player, Spybot is an anti-spyware program, and AVG is a anti-virus program. You could possibly get rid of MSN or Mozilla, but I'd check what those files are first (Right Click and go to Properties). Hope this helps

All of the programs on there that you are running are basically stuff you use or stuff you should keep. Mozzilla is your internet browser, MSN is your email im assuming, avg and Spybot are probably anti virus software and you are gonna definitely need those. Itunes would be the only one to get rid of but that really doesn't take up that much space. I would wonder if you have any songs on there and if so how many songs are on your computer. I have around 2000 and that takes up about 8 Gbs so depending on what you have that may be what is killing your space. Also, if you have any types of videos and again how many you have they would take up a lot of space. Odds are since the overall HD is only about 30Gbs and probably less because it has to be formatted which takes some space before you even get it, Vista is taking all of your space. Depending on what programs within Vista you installed when you got the computer is where all your space is going. You can run a very basic Vista with about 8-10 Gbs of space but also can run a full version with all of the little apps and other things around 20-30Gbs. If you want to get more space i would recommend an external HD. I personally have a 300GB external HD and its great. It is made by Western Digital and there is no formatting needed, out of the box it is ready to go. I picked it up for about $120 plus shipping online. The other route would be to re install windows and pick what things you need and you would be able to get a more condensed version of Vista. This would wipe all of photos and information unless you saved them on a different drive or somewhere else. So I would go the route of an external HD for more space.
