What is the best and cheapest laptop on the market?

  • Answer:

You could buy a copy of Micro Mart computer magazine, it's only £1.99 and you will find numerous adverts. There are some excellent bargains in reconditioned as new laptops with a full warranty. Also a lot of brand new at discount prices. It's also a good magazine if you want to know a little more about how things work. Hope this helps

Kat, have a look at the Samsung R20, the one with the 160GB drive is really good value, had 2 of them last month, comes with 1GB memory, but we run XP so its fine, if you want to run Vista, just upgrade to 2GB and you have a fast/cheap laptop.

really depends what you want to use it for. If its just for the net and downloading tunes and stuff you could make do with a Dell Inspiron 1300. I have one and its a great little machine. Only £300 brand new.

Acer - any good computer retailer will sell them or from time to time you'll be able to find them in Tesco for a low cost

Compaq's are probably the best out there - but laptops are expensive things anyway - they only last 2 -3 years anyway and the battery would need to be resplaced after a year anyway !!!
