I think honestly HP is better, their warranty and service is better, very fast shipment to your house. They are packaged in Shanghai, China and get to the U.S. within a week even though it seems impossible. They shipped mine on the day they promised even though I was freaking out. and their motherboard is great. I've had Intels for years and years and computers and laptops from different brands. Now I have an HP and it's been amazing. Also, if you are a teacher or a student, you can use your .edu email in HP's website for CRAZY discounts. My laptop costs $1,049 but it was on sale for 949. But with my student email verification, I got it for $630. I thought maybe they are just trying to get rid of bad laptops or something cause it was too good to be true, but the wireless N card on the HP laptops are the best I've ever had. Plus they have HP assistant on their computers, which is way better than what I've had on different brand computers and laptops. The Acer's, gateways, Dells are not comparable to the HP. Good fans too. And they are quiet computers. With the HP though, you get smaller Hard drive size? 160GB is awfully small! How come you can't customize it? I got 350GB customized with my laptop. Doesn't hp.com let you do that after you click on the laptop? I thought there was a selection of menus to go through before you come across the Hard Drive section? The dv3t is a great laptop too if you can't be flexible with the DM3z and it's less than 700 I'm sure.

The Lenovo sounds like an overpriced netbook. The HP is a much better value for the money, has a better processor. I think both are overpriced, but the HP is a better value.

Orange!

I honestly don't like the look of either - are you planning on getting netbook sized computers? I have a terrible time recommending netbooks - they are too small and seem too prone to going out of date very fast. Overall, I think the HP looks like it has the edge performance wise, but Lenovo has a better build quality. It's up to you which one you want, but both seem pricy for computers of their size.

The HP
