How much would it cost to repair my screen?

• So a little under a year ago, i purchased a laptop. A Samsung notebook to be more precise, but a week or so ago, my screen got all smashed? How? No clue. haha. It had a protective covering on and what not, my one mistake was probably traveling it in a backpack...which i carried around with the utmost care. I have no clue how it got smashed, but I digress. The problem is, i don't know if i have warranty or not....but even if i did, would that cover the smashed screen? My main question though is, how much would it cost to put in a new screen? If you need any additional details about my computer, feel free to ask. Please help out, and thank you.

  Ok, as to the warranty, there is a manufacturer 1-year warranty that covers defects, not accidents. If you purchased additional warranties from the business you bought the laptop from, those do generally cover accidents. As to the screen replacement, you are looking at least $100 for the parts. If you know how to replace the screen yourself you'll save money. Best to buy from a parts dealer or the manufacturer themselves. If you don't know how to replace it, you could be looking at dropping another $75-100 for labor, and that's on the cheap end. Depending on the original cost of the laptop, you might just want to buy a new one.
