Get a laptop. The iPad isn't even a computer. It's just like an iPhone.

an iPad is an internet device that allows you to surf websites, watch downloadable movies, adjust your ipod, and send email. a labtop is a hard stone surface that is used in a laboratory. a LAPTOP is a portable computer that essentially performs the duties of a desktop computer, but is portable. So, you must first decide what you are going to do with what you want. If what you want to do fits within the capabilities of a iPad, then get one. Otherwise, get a laptop. Unless you need a stone counter that will withstand harsh chemicals... then get a labtop. end of line

get a netbook and use Linux so it feels like a mac. best of both devices- portable and light like the iPad, but actually useful for most purposes like a laptop. its way cheaper too. netbook = $300 iPad = $500 laptop = $700 iPad is a fancy digital pad that costs alot and not really a computer. a laptop is a portable computer hat needs the plug alot.

if you already have a laptop get a ipad but if you don't get a laptop, an ipod is just a ipod touch.

Meanwhile, electronic book reader devices use an electronic ink technology that doesn't strain the eyes and can be used in the sun. -You cannot multitask. You can only do one task at a time. If you want to surf the web and type into a document, you can't. You need to exit one and then open the other. -No flash support. Enjoy the web without much of its content! -Doesn't use a real operating system, like Windows or Mac OSX. It runs like an iPhone, not a laptop. -It costs $500, minimum, and has a 1 ghz processor. You're paying $500 for something that has about the same capabilities as an iPod Touch, but is huge. Products with similar specs and abilities as the iPad cost less than that. If you want the model with enough disk space and 3G to make it worth your while, it's $800.

IPad is as big as a laptop, but lighter and thinner. Just imagine, that you're carrying a big iphone. I would recommend to stick with a labtop

Nothing is really special about it. It's too big to be a cell phone replacement and not powerful enough to be a laptop replacement. It lacks a real keyboard, you can't multitask on it, no webcam, has limited apps, you can't visit flash websites on it, and it doesn't have any USB ports! You're not missing out on much

Get a laptop..! It's obviously a lot better - There are so much more advantages.. To start with, the ipad lacks basic requirements - You can only open 1 window at once - So if you want to watch a youtube video and check your e-mail at the same time, you can't do that which would b so annoying.. Then, you cant plug anything into the ipad - It doesn't have a usb port or an sd card slot! It also doesnt have a camera/webcam if you want to keep in touch with relatives or friends far away..So, well, its a bit silly really.. Also everything is in itunes format - You cant download anything - Movies or tv shows that aren't from itunes, if you want any other music you have to change it to an Avg file so it'll work - The price is way over-the-top because you really do get so little for your money.. So much more on a laptop and in many cases, cheaper! Focusing on the positives - The ipad is lovely looking - A massive ipod touch.. For people that don't really know a lot about computers it could b good - Because all you have to do is pick it up and away you go.. Touch screen, just scroll with your fingertips so lots would like that.. But balancing it all up, a laptops a better product - And a better investment - But its up to you, Hope it helped :)
