Does the DSi's firmware update automatically?

How can I update my Open Firmware when I'm running Mac OS X?

  • I've downloaded an update, update to my Open Firmware. It says that I have to boot on Mac OS 9.1, but I'm running Mac OS X (10.4.11), and it uses the Classic Mode. The update does not open in Classic mode and keep on telling me to boot on Mac OS 9.1. I search the web if a PowerBook G4 1.67 Ghz can boot Mac OS 9, but since Apple made it clear that earlier release of Macs cannot boot anymore to Mac OS 9. How can I update my Macs Open Firmware of if I'm running Mac OS X?

  • Answer:

You can't. You already said that your Mac can't boot on Mac OS 9, so deal with it.
