Why isn't my laptop recognizing my CD-Rom drive?
-
Just after my warranty ran out, my laptop's CD-Rom drive is no longer being recognized as any kind of drive at all. What could be wrong? Can I fix this myself? And if I can't, how much will this cost?

Answer:
Try opening device manager and look under cd/dvd drives. if your drive is there, delete it and then refresh for new devices or just reboot. The system should then detect the device. Make sure you have the drivers for the device if you are using an older o/s.
