Can someone please explain Hard Drive vs Ram???

think of it this way your hard drive is like your long term memory (your programs,mp3,images.etc..) Ram is short term memory ( opened images, programs like outlook or word store info on ram to open up faster and respond quicker)

I think i can prefer 60GB of the Hard Drive and 1GB of the RAM for which you are going to buy for your son
