Where To Get Cheap Laptop In Ireland?

Is it ok to get a laptop on ebay from America? im in ireland?

  • never used ebay before!!! is there a set standard shipping fee? do i enter my bid in dollars (when obviously i only have euro)? oh, and is it a bad idea??? lol

    Usually laptop power adapters will take all voltages between 110v and 240v, 50Hz and 60Hz (this covers both USA and UK). However the obvious difference will be the plug. Most laptop power supplies use a thick 3-pin kettle lead, the same as the one that plugs into a normal PC (the power supply is usually just a small seperate box that goes between the power lead and the laptop), so you can just swap the USA one for a UK one. You need to ask and make sure that you can change the power lead and it accepts a UK power supply before you buy it though. The other difference is that the keyboard will be a USA layout, which means there is no £ symbol and some of the keys are in different places. You can change the layout to UK in it's settings which will give you the £ sign back, but the keys will still be printed in the USA layout so it could get confusing.

e-bay is safe to buy from, and for some reason there is a problem e-bay will help, make sure there rating is high and check to see if they have any negitives toward them before you buy anything from e-bay always check there ratings.

no you should be ok, but i would rather buy a laptop from someone within the UK, if however your getting a super good deal, then i suppose it maybe be worth it. check his/her feedback, make sure you send the money by paypal or something secure. ask as many questions to the seller that you can think of.

UK is PAL America is NTSC. The power adaptors are not compatible. There is also a UK version of ebay... use that one

You will probably be bidding with euros if it's setup right. It is find to do that. Make sure the seller ships international first.

If u did it would take for ever to get there I guess its ok as long as u no how to transfer euro's into dollars!! My dads 100% irish and I go there like 3 times every year to dublin!!

You may have compatibility issues. Never buy (or use extreme caution) electronics from ebay. Most everything is refurbished or not good quality. I've boughten an iPod and a cell phone from ebay and they both failed on me. iPod took about 6 months, the phone about 3 days.
