Where do i get a dvd decoder?

Where do I get a DVD Decoder for Dell Latitude C610 (Laptop) ?

  • I purchase a Dell Latitude C610 a few years ago. It had a operating system of Windows 2000. It crashed so recently I installed Windows XP and got it back up again. It came with WMP11 but when I try to play a DVD it tells me I need a DVD Decoder. What is this and where do I go to download it? Thanks for any help. A Novice.

  • Answer:

You can use the Media Player Classic watch DVD's and most any video file. There are 2 so get the one for your Operating System.> http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/media_player_classic.cfm It doesn't install, its just 1 file, You use the file from the menu to open things.

Cyberlink Power DVD and Intervideo WinDVD are the two most common ones. You can get either one for around $5 on eBay, on CD.
