How to set bios to default settings?

Everex Impact C7-D ---- BIOS reconfiguration back to default settings....?

• I'm at a loss here. I've been messing with a family members pc all morning, trying to help fix. I've done a few things to it already. It still won't detect the keyboard although it tells me the ports are running properly. I cannot locate microsoft office as if it's no longer there, so I tried use its microsoft repair program that's installed in the pc but it won't allow me to do (I dont remember the message it gave.) I'm trying to re-install the original pc disc (Everex Impact C7-D and the disc is the Everex Windows Vista manual and drivers disc) but it won't run the disc; it only reads it as if I want to burn the disc. So, I opted to do a system restore but the restore point is't far back enough to where I think it'll actually make a difference. What can I do now? Should I restart the pc and enter the BIOS screen and reconfigure back to default settings? (There are no important files to lose, so this isn't a concern.) What do you think? And if so, is there a certain way to do this or can I just go to the option that asks if I'd like to reconfigure the whole system back to its default settings? Thanks a million, guys...

  If your system won't detect your keyboard or Microsoft Office, I would start by running a check disk and correcting any system or disk errors. Then I would go to the BIOS. If that doesn't work, I would get the original disks that came with your computer and reformat your hard drive that will put your computer back to where it was when it came out of the box.
