Why can't I change my desktop background with Windows 7?

Windows 7 starter desktop/screen resolution question?

  • I know that on windows 7 starter edition you cant change the desktop background w/o cheats/hacks, but when you right-click an image it will still say "set as desktop background" So, I clicked this and then the desktop windows logo got big and the icons got smaller. Also the bars on the top of the screen in windows (where the X is in the top right-hand corner) is larger. I've tried reseting the resolution, restoring the desktop background using what windows said to do, and resizing items and nothing has worked so far. Any help? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

  • Answer:

    Change "screen fonts" to "normal".
