How to build my own PC?

What should I do to start learning how to build a PC?

  • So I decided to start learning about all the staff of PC upgrading and building...I am really inderested in learning and I even think to study in university later on but for now I want to build a PC for me because I need it for gaming, editing and all that stuff...If anybody knows I would like you to suggest me what I should read, check or anything like that so I start learning more and more until I know enough to build my PC just how I want it to be...and believe me I will spent a lot of hours per day doing it because I have spent already a lot of hours it's just I learned only basics but not how to build a PC yet...thanks for your time reading this...

I second the linus tech tips - his unboxings are actually enjoyable to watch. The NCIX forums are also quite active and will help you out when you need something clarified. They're more than happy to give advice. Another forum to check out is Tom's Hardware - they also have a bunch of guides and reviews. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/How-To,4/ Finally.... RTFM. Read the freaking manual - way back when I got my first computer I had never seen the inside of a case before. I bought the PC used and decided to upgrade the HDD and ram. So I read the manual to see what would fit. Then I bought the ram and snapped it in. And I read the HDD manual to learn how to install it - then turned to google to figure out why my computer saw an 8.5GB hard drive instead of a 40GB one. Google told me it was the bios that needed flashing - so I used google to find out how - and so on. It's easy to do if you're willing to put the time into learning. If you can assemble a children's toy that says "assembly required" ... then you can build a computer.

On Youtube a great person's video to watch is LinusTechTips and NCIX both done by a man called Linus. I'm only 16 and I have a great fascination with computers now, it first started with software but now I'm interested in software. Look at different CPUs and what makes them better e.g. cores, cache and clock rate. Look at motherboards and learn the slots e.g. PCI, and the Storage connectors eg IDE or SATA. Learn to put them together and what components are balanced together. Your not going to put an intel core i7 3960x with a really bad AMD graphics card. You'd put them probably with something like Nvidia 590's in SLI. Experiment is one of the biggest tips to give you, don't stick to the stuff you know, but don't be ashamed or hesitant about looking for advice on the internet, you can learn frmo other people's problems to help solve your own.

Harris!

Building a pc is very easy, i started with replacing my HDD, then i did my RAM, then i did my Graphics card, then i replaced my power supply, and you remember stuff like that which become handy, i also watched much videos on youtube and such, always read manuals though.
