Whats the best stuff for my pc?

  • i have a dell dimension 2400 pc with microsoft windows xp version 2002 it has an intel(R) celeron (R) cpu2.60GHz 2.59 GHz with 1.00 gb of ram i want to buy new parts for my pc that will make them alot faster can u tell me what would be the best parts to buy and tell me how much they would cost and make sure u tell me parts that will work in my pc

    What kind of money are you willing to spend for the upgrades? What do you use your computer for? Gaming? Word processing and internet? Something else? All of the above? EDIT: OK if you're just browsing the internet and downloading in LW, you certainly don't need a new graphics card. As far as the mobo, I would assume you've got socket 478 but you should check. Hmmm, try a processor upgrade - don't know what socket is on your motherboard - if it is a Socket 775 you can upgrade to a 3.46GHz processor for about $60. Maybe need to get a CPU fan block too ($20 to $50). http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1973 Another performance booster is more RAM - get 2Gb (not as much of an increase in power but still noticable). sounds like a fast pc. just need a gpu looks like i have nvidia 7900 gt that is fast. you may want a nvidia 8800 there the best out but you will need a psu with the right watt's. just look into it.
