Why my dvd rw wont burn on dvd's?

Can my dvd+rw burn dvds?

  • I have a dvd+rw in my tower and I was wondering if it can burn dvds and if it can what kind of cds do I need? I tried to burn with nero then after it finished it would play like 10 seconds of the movie then stop so I wasent sure if I had a dvd burner. Thanks

    DVDs come in two write/read formats; the plus and minus signs are different and will react differently in different players. If your drive is DVD+RW , make sure you get DVD+R (or RW) discs. If it's a DVD-RW drive, make sure the DVDs are DVD-R or -RW. Also make sure the DVDs aren't scratched; even those in a new package can be scratched, even in brand new packaging. You may also have had a problem with either the video itself (a glitch in the video) or some other PC problem that caused the write to screw up.

"DVD+RW" stands for "Digital Video Dist - Rewritable". You can burn a DVD movie with that drive provided you have the proper software and media (a DVD-R or DVD-RW) with that DVD+RW drive.

Yes, it will burn DVD's, but you need a special disk. Go to best buy, or staples and ask them.

Yep, you can burn DVDs. Get blank DVDs at WalMart. They are about ten bucks. - Stuart

yes dvd re-writable can burn DVDs & also use Rewritable DVD disks also your getting confused with DVD ROM Drive "Read only Memory" which can only Play & Read DVD's
