Sony Vaio Failed Linear Seek Test. Help?!?
-
I bought my Sony Vaio about 3 years ago. One day after my mom was finished using it, she usually plays Spider Solitaire, I came into the room and saw the computer was off. Alright, that's fine, maybe something sagged the power cord, I attempted to turn it on, it turned on but a prompt came up, "Operating system not found", under a few more lines of text, it said to insert the recovery disc, after moving 3 times since getting the computer, I didn't have the disc, I ordered the disc from Sony. I put it in, I ran the Linear Seek Test, drive C failed. The error code was E-HDD-001. What does it mean? I called Sony and it's $39.99 just to speak to a technician. Help!
