Where can I download Insignia 400a drivers?

Motherboard drivers download help?

  • So I built a new computer the other day and I am giving my old one away to some family. I formatted the hard drive and now I have to download the motherboard drives, I cannot use the disk because it is not compatible with windows 7. here is the link to where the drivers are: http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5ND/#download The only problem I have is I have no clue which drivers to install like under bios there are 12, and I don't know if I click global (dlm), global, or china to download them. When I click just global all it wants to do is save a .zip folder instead of installing them. So my question is can someone help direct me on this site which drivers to download and how to download/install them? Thanks for your time.

  • Answer:

You dont want to use DLM is a download manager and you have to install it before you can actually download the drivers. Use Global, ASUS drivers are always zipped so you will have to download the drivers and save them to your desktop and then unzip them to your desktop, open the unzipped folder and click asus setup it should install the driver. Right click on My Computer and click manage, go to device manager and you will see all the drivers that need to be installed with a yellow ! next to it. Most of the time you can tell which ones you need from looking at them. Download video, audio, lan, chipset, those are the most basic ones you need. Once your at the download page make sure you select windows 7 as the OS. It shows to only have a few for windows 7 download these. You might need the last one if you configured the drive as raid. You don't need to update the BIOS unless you are having a specific problem with the board. This is nothing to do with the OS. The BIOS is the program that is built into the system ROM that controls startup and detection of hardware. Click the global link and save the ZIP file. Right click on the ZIP file and click Extract All to expand the ZIP file. See the link below for how to expand zip files in Windows 7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQOYqzGHiDY Once you have unzipped the zip file you will have a folder than contains the install files for the drivers.

BIOS updates are not drivers. You don't need to update the BIOS. You need the chipset, SATA, and audio drivers.
