Video card stopped working?

I have a GeForce 9800Gt 1GB video card I bought about 2 years ago. Last week the computer started to crash and eventually the card stopped working completely. I know 2 years is a long time in the world of computer parts, but I is this a common problem? I took the card out (I'm running off the MoBo video now), and there was some dust in the fan, but nothing too crazy. Perhaps it burned out? I assume the card can't be fixed right?

i doubt it. those are typically throw aways. even if it could be salvaged, it would be cheaper to buy a better card. if you like the card that much, don't toss it. it's possible the board could be going bad. i suggest you barrow a v-card from a friend and put it in there just to see. if it throws a fit, you know the board/slot is the issue and your card is not. i hope it's just the card though. easier to change and it's due for an upgrade anyway.
